Book matching, and why it starts at the block
A mirrored panel cannot be assembled from slabs bought separately.

Book matching takes two slabs cut in sequence from the same block and mirrors one against the other, so the grain meets and reflects across the joint. Done properly it turns two slabs into a single symmetrical panel.
The constraint is that it has to be planned from the block. Slabs cut from different blocks will not match, and slabs cut from the same block but out of sequence will not either. Once a block is sawn the opportunity is gone.
So send the finished panel size before we cut, not after. For feature walls, large vanity runs and lobby cladding it is the difference between a wall of stone and a piece of stone.
