Rajasthan Black: the substitute worth knowing
Close to Absolute Black and Black Galaxy in appearance, and materially cheaper.

Rajasthan Black is a dark granite carrying fine blue and black speckling across a near-black ground. It is quarried in northern India, with most of the mines in Rajasthan — which is why it lands well for anyone already importing from this region.
It also goes by Ash Black, R Black and Black Beauty depending on the seller. Because it sits so close to Absolute Black and Black Galaxy visually but costs less, it is the stone to look at when a specification calls for a premium black and the budget does not stretch to one.
It suits flooring and wall cladding particularly well, where the large surface area makes the price difference significant.
